
Assistant / Deputy Product Manager

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze product-wise competitive advantages, market challenges, and conduct SWOT analysis.
- Develop product lifecycle management strategies and identify niche market segments.
- Increase market share by identifying present and future potential of assigned products.
- Prepare monthly and yearly product-wise sales budgets as per organizational guidelines.
- Develop and update marketing plans for assigned products.
- Plan and execute promotional campaigns, including promotional materials and activities.
- Develop promotional matrices for high gross-profit generating products.
- Monitor national sales performance against monthly and quarterly targets.
- Prepare and update cost structures considering raw material costs, currency fluctuations, and other market factors.
- Maintain market intelligence regarding competitor pricing, promotional activities, sales trends, and distribution strategies.
- Prepare import plans and coordinate with relevant departments regarding procurement and inventory management.
- Monitor production planning, stock levels, and inventory turnover to ensure efficient supply chain operations.
- Coordinate new product launches according to established timelines and procedures.
- Identify market gaps and propose new product opportunities or product improvements.
- Conduct customer satisfaction surveys among farmers, distributors, and stakeholders to improve marketing strategies.
- Monitor demand generation activities and ensure proper execution of field-level initiatives.
- Manage promotional expenses and field force incentives within the allocated budget.
- Perform additional responsibilities assigned by management when required.
Educational Requirements
- B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Agriculture from a recognized university.
- MBA (preferably in Marketing or Finance) will be considered an added advantage.
Experience Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience in Product Management or Brand Management.
- Experience in Agrochemical, Agro-based industries, FMCG, or related sectors will be preferred.
Required Knowledge
- Strong understanding of marketing management, product branding, and marketing communications.
- Knowledge of marketing research methods and statistical data analysis.
- Understanding of break-even analysis and product viability assessment.
- Knowledge of sales and distribution management, market potential analysis, and target setting.
- Basic understanding of product development processes and product launch strategies.
